I normally don’t talk politics with anyone in my family, but this year has been different for all of us. I took my granddaughter to lunch today for her 15th birthday. We started discussing politics because of some treatment she received last night as she took her younger sister trick or treating.
We discussed some propositions and what they really meant and why some people are frightened of them or of them not passing. We discussed how this might impact her life and how others never would.
The important thing I told her is when you are eligible that you go and vote. That if you feel passionately about an issue or a candidate that you stand up for what you believe in. Even if you don’t win, you will have pride in knowing that you did your best.
I may not agree with your vote, but I will fight to the death to defend your right to vote. We may not have that right forever — but while we do, you should exercise it.
America will never fall from an enemy outside… she will fall from and enemy within. Our job as citizens of America is to find the enemy within and make sure they do not get in a position to create our fall. The POTUS is one of the most powerful in the world. I want to be sure the person that has that job is not so ego-driving that they want to rule the world and declare him/herself a citizen of the world.
More coming… There is a special On The Record tonight at 10 ET
