Shelby Holliday reporting from Columbus, OH (2008-10-28 08:26:24)
150 questionable Ohio residents are being given one last chance to withdraw their ballots.
But what about those who slipped through the cracks and were not on this list?
Their votes will count, but according to the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Ron O’Brien, they could still face charges of election fraud if found in violation of Ohio’s residency requirements.
Tiffany Wilson and I have come across a few out-of-state campaigners that have questionable residency statuses, but they did NOT withdraw their ballots before the Saturday deadline.
-Chris Dearing (I blogged about him Sunday; see link). Chris is from Buffalo, NY and came to “grab Ohio by the b***s” for Obama. On his Facebook wall, he wrote: “Watch the Ohio polls cause McCain’s about to get f****d up.”
-Mahen Gunaratna. Gunaratna was previously registered at a house in NY, from which he voted in the 2004 election. Gunaratna attended school at Georgetown and is part of the “Washington DC” network on facebook, yet he cast a ballot in Franklin County Ohio. The address at which he is registered in Ohio belongs to the family of his fellow campaign worker Thomas McMahon. -Daniel Michelson-Horowitz. (O’Brien said Horowitz is on the list of ‘flagged’ voters and will have a last chance to withdraw his ballot.) According to facebook, Horowitz is a grad student at American and lives in Washington D.C. as well. He voted in D.C. during the primaries, but cast a ballot in Ohio for the general election. In his blog “Barackin’ Ohio,” Horowitz blogged about coming to “turn Ohio blue.” His facebook profile: http://media.palestra.net/images/e29/d06/e32/90e/64d345759f2429d2b503.png His Blog: http://media.palestra.net/images/317/b23/9d0/1b8/89ce3803cb56377733f4.png His Profile: http://media.palestra.net/images/a68/ec8/f88/96c/8d105e383bd4ce7e4e6e.png
Tiffany and I are still coming across more out-of-state voters, so we will be sure to keep you posted.
