Feminists Do a Flip Flop – Terrified of Prolife Message

I remember when NOW (National Organization of Women) was founded in the mid-sixties. NOW took up the fight for Equal Rights for Women. It was a time of radicalization of America. There were so many “revolutions”; the black civil rights movement, the movement against the Viet Nam war, the sexual revolution, and the infamous protests of bra burning and sit-ins. We were no longer going to be strapped in physically or figuratively. Since that time, women have made great progress with leadership positions in every walk of life And now we stand on the threshold of a huge step in history and we sabotage our chance to be seen as competent leaders.

I stand shocked at the inequality of questions, nit picking, petty BS that surrounds this Presidential Campaign between the ways both significant women have been treated. Wake up women! The men are laughing all the way to the polls and using you (once again) to their personal gain. They know if the women would ever unite they would lose their rung of power. And so they help fuel the fire of the one item that is solely a women’s issue. While we shout and scream about taking the life or not taking the life of unborn children, we lose the fight of equal wages, we lose the fight of leadership, and thus we lose the credibility we have gained until this moment in time.

Women have made the greatest strides forward thru out the world by banding together. It is in America, the land of the free and the home of the brave, that we cannot seem to rise together and send women into real leadership of the world. Shirley Chisholm, who first took the “white-male-only” sign off of the White House, would probably stand in disbelief in this women-eating-women frenzy. But then again, men are taught to work together in teams while women are not.

Oprah Winfrey gained fire from feminists during the primaries when she announced her support of Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton.   Feminists were outraged. Mouths flapped and hands flailed around. Now the feminists are flocking to the Obama camp.  Are they flip-floppers?  Does that mean that their outcry against Oprah Winfrey was meaningless? Many of my friends are terrified of Prolifers.  While they are older white women without the ability to reproduce, they feel something is lost by supporting anyone that is prolife.

What is it about a pro-life woman that scares the begeebers out of these women (the feminists) who claim to represent ALL women’s rights?  No longer do feminists represent my rights. The feminist “movement” is laughable. They are deploying old intimidation and radicalization techniques from the 60’s and 70’s rather than employing modern societal activities. Rather than fight to keep women and girls from having to make the choice that has the potential to add the greatest joy or bring a lifetime of sorrow. Typically these decisions are made due to dire circumstances of poverty, violence, or acts of women made powerless.

Why is it that Feminists can support the plight of the Afghan Woman who is Muslim and prolife but cannot support their fellow Americans who are Muslim, Christian, Jewish or Atheist and prolife? Is this perhaps the greatest two-faced point of view thus perhaps the real reason that women are often not taken seriously in American politics and abroad?  If some feminists want to be heard and taken for more than a group of shrieking shrews, they must learn to get a consistent message and not flip-flop depending upon the political climate of a country.

It seems that when someone like Sarah Palin speaks the truth about what she believes, you are shocked.  Are you saying that prolife women or prochoice women should be in the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” mode?  At the time of John Kennedy’s political campaign to Presidency, the nation and nay-sayers pontificated that he would be receiving his instructions from the Pope and Catholic Church.  It didn’t happen.  It was all much ado about nothing.  Sarah Palin is not going to infect you.

The truth of the matter is that while prolife rights are an important discussion for a myriad of reasons, it is just not the most important issue facing Americans in this election year. Learn what your Faith or Group may have to say about prolife rights.  If you don’t see your faith or belief/club on this list, put in YOUR Affiliation for life in a Google search box and click on search. You might be surprised what you see.

Recently, Day Gardner, an African American pro-life leader tells Barack Obama it is not alright to OK abortion.  Click here to read the whole story and learn why she feels these businesses prey on minority communities.  If you look at the screeching women in the pro-choice news conferences, they are largely white.

Barack Obama is an extremist who, in supporting what amounts to infanticide, would like to see all of us stand idle–twiddling our thumbs as unplanned children, who are born alive, die this terrible death,” she told LifeNews.com.  Gardner is also troubled by Obama’s refusal to admit that he voted against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act even after his own legislative committee adopted an amendment he now says would have made it possible for him to vote for the bill.

“It’s hard to believe that this man who wants to hold the highest office in this land would not only oppose legislation to protect children born alive, but would then lie about it for four years stating that he didn’t oppose it,” she says.

So while the new era of outdated feminists flip flop around like fish out of water.  They make ill informed and horrific choices for the progress of minority women in America.  It seems to me that we have sought to impeach Presidents that have lied to us.  I can’t imagine rewarding one that can’t admit he made a mistake or does not support saving the lives of children who manage to live through an abortion that is not successful in achieving the death of the fetus prior to birth.

Anyone can excuse away any behavior.  You can modernize your beliefs.  You can embrace the archaic process of creating your own personal jihad on the issues.  However, an evolved society looks for ways in which to raise the society awareness to a level that makes the use of prehistoric methods no longer valid.
While we watch abortion rising exponentially, what are the Feminists or any women doing to support those communities where this practice is in large use?  I know I have been remiss in seeing if there is something I can do for women facing this type of serious decision.  Is there something I can do for these communities of women to help them avoid having to be in the situation of making these decisions?

I almost feel like we cannot see the forest for the trees.  If we invested in our communities with our service with as great a vigor as we fight each other, would this caustic conversation be necessary?  If we made sure women and girls who were rape or incest victims knew they had a place to go to get the help they need right away to avoid the expense in dollar and psychological suicide that occurs with these vile acts.  If an abortion is needed, I hope that we will also rise to the occasion and support each other in recognition of the difficult personal decision that was made and if a child is born in the process, that we will provide the child the right the live with a family that would be happy to receive her in their lives.

BTW – below is exact quote from Barack Obama’s website under the women category.

Preventing Unintended Pregnancy:

Barack Obama is an original co-sponsor of legislation to expand access to contraception, health information and preventive services to help reduce unintended pregnancies. Introduced in January 2007, the Prevention First Act will increase funding for family planning and comprehensive sex education that teaches both abstinence and safe sex methods. The Act will also end insurance discrimination against contraception, improve awareness about emergency contraception, and provide compassionate assistance to rape victims.

In conclusion, I know having the ability to make an informed and safe choice is highly important.  I’d also like to see women pull together and stop polarizing our votes.  This year the World Womens Forum’s focus is on Women as Agents of Change: Building a Diverse and Sustainable Future.  Instead of taking the battles of old in tired ways, can we find a way to be agents of change in a way in which we create sustainable futures as we desire to create sustainable housing or other green initiatives?  Can we use our American ingenuity and innovations to solve the problem at where it starts?

Today on CSPAN I listened to Hillary Clinton tell a story of a village that had babies floating down the river.  The village wanted to save the babies.  They tried to build bridges, barges and grab the babies as best they could but many babies kept floating on by.  The village was in great distress at how to solve the problem.  At last a wise woman (my words – can’t remember exactly how it happened) said they needed to go to the source and solve the problem rather than spend millions of dollars trying to build a solution that kept losing babies.  And until they did, they would always lose some of the babies.

While Hillary’s speech was about the current financial situation, it applies to this topic as well.  The world laughs as we fight over this issue and they continue to attack us with a vigor that they would never do to a man.  They attacked Hillary.  They attack Sarah.  And they watch as we attack each other…and they keep the power.  Just as they do in cases of rape and incest.  The women is left in ruin in many ways.  It is wrong. Period.  Start working together and we can actually fight the stereotypical situations and put real reform in place that will help to make consequences so dire as men will choose to not put women in the position where we have to choose.  That IS the REAL crime…but we are too busy fighting the symptom and each other instead of the disease.   As a result there will never be a cure. 😉

  1. Motherhood is the ultimate profession. It is a sacred duty assigned to women by our Creator. To fail at is is to fail HIM. Why be pro=life is you are not pro=family?

  2. Excellent post. The behavior of the liberals and allegedly pro-women feminists amazes me.

They hate Palin so much. Why? Because she thinks it is a bad thing to destroy the unborn.
